Sigma-Aldrich and Società Chimica Italiana are glad to invite you to XV edition
of  S.A.Y.C.S.

From 27th to 29th October 2015   Hotel Ambasciatori - Rimini

The Sigma-Aldrich Young Chemists Symposium (SAYCS 2015, XV Edition) is an annual scientific event organized by Sigma-Aldrich and Italian Chemical Society (SCI). For the second consecutive year, it will be an international conference.

SAYCS 2015 will be hosted in Rimini (Italy), on the Adriatic Riviera of Romagna, in one of the best known seaside resorts in Northern Italy. All symposium sessions and events will be held in the interconnected Hotels Ambasciatori and Sporting, which will ensure an elegant, comfortable, top level hospitality. Conference will begin at 2 pm on 27th October (check-in will be open from 11 am) and will be concluded at 2.30 pm on 29th October, after lunch.

This symposium is fully devoted to young researchers, such as Ph.D. students, post-doc fellows and young researchers in enterprises. All the disciplines of Chemistry are covered: analytical, physical, industrial, organic, inorganic, theoretical, pharmaceutical, biological, macromolecular and electrochemistry. This year, a special emphasis will be given to new trends in chemistry: how chemistry is facing emerging sectors in energy, medicine and nanotechnologies. In addition, the Scientific Committee will invite the winners of the most important individual European projects: European Research Council (ERC) and Marie SkłodowskaCurie actions (MSCA). A dedicated space will be reserved for the symposium members to personally meet them and have the unique opportunity of thoroughly discussing about the key aspect of the increasingly relevant research projects.

Symposium members will present the results of their scientific research in front of an audience, which will also include representatives of chemical companies and invited renowned scientists.
Announced SAYCS 2015 renowned invited speakers are (in order of appearance):

  • Jean-Marie Lehn, Nobel Prize in Chemistry (1987) and innovator in the field of supramolecular chemistry.
  • Luisa de Cola, Group Leader at the Laboratoire de Chimie et des Biomatériaux Supramoléculaires (University of Strasbourg, France), top-scientist in luminescent materials, nanomaterials for imaging diagnostics and therapy.
  • Chiara Cappelli, Director of the Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire at Scuola Normale Superiore (CECAM@SNS, Pisa, Italy), top-expert in the development of theoretical methodologies for the study of chemical systems.
  • Anders Hagfeldt, Director of the Laboratoire des Sciences Photomoléculaires at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland), world leader in the field of materials chemistry for photovoltaic and photoelectrochemical devices.

The conference is organized to allow each participants to contribute with an oral presentation, a poster, or a poster + flash communication. For scientific contribution, the deadline for abstract submission is September 21st 2015 (Abstract template is mandatory).

We are looking forward seeing you at SAYCS 2015!
