CRISPR/Cas9 has taken the world of gene editing by storm! Our presentation will provide a background overview of CRISPR gene editing technology and the CRISPR toolbox. We will highlight important strategic considerations when starting a CRISPR Knock In project, including optimization of the donor and HDR Approaches. Lastly, we will focus on new advances and improvements made in CRISPR tools including synthetic CRISPR and enhanced specificity Cas9 and some potential future CRISPR tools.

Speaker Bio
Annie Cartman, M.Sc
Research Technology Specialist
Annie received a BSc in Biochemistry as well as an MSc in Sciences and Technologies focused on Microbiology at Universite de Haute Normandie, (France), followed by many years of hands-on experience as a researcher, first in molecular virology then in immunology.

Annie joined MilliporeSigma (legacy Sigma-Aldrich) in 2003 as a Life Science Specialist  focusing on the entire functional genomics portfolio, with experience in shRNA, ZFN and CRISPR.  In her current role as the Research Technology Specialist she is a strategic scientific partner to customers in Canada supporting their research with the MilliporeSigma innovative life science portfolio including genomics, functional genomics, epigenetics and stem cells related workflows.
