Ingrid Hayenga is the Product Manager for Inorganic Elemental and for Environmental Standards within the Reference Materials team of Sigma-Aldrich Chemie GmbH, Buchs, Switzerland.

Prior to her position as product manager she worked as a Senior R&D Chemist, focusing on developing analytical standards for environmental and food & beverage applications.

She joined Sigma-Aldrich after completing a post-doctorate at the University of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Ingrid got her PhD in inorganic chemistry from the University of Münster, Germany.

Markus Obkircher is heading Merck’s Reference Materials Research & Development division with teams in the US and Switzerland. Prior to this position he was the R&D Manager in Buchs with a strong focus on the synthesis, characterization and certification of reference materials.

He joined Sigma-Aldrich four years ago after heading the development unit for a custom API manufacturer. Before that he completed his post-doctoral studies in Boston, US and PhD thesis in Basel, Switzerland.
