Webinar: Sample Preparation for Food Analysis: New Technologies and Techniques

Duration: 75 minutes

 What Does It Cover?

In typical analytical workflows, sample preparation accounts for over 60% of the time taken to generate results and 30% of any errors generated. To help analytical chemists maintain the cornerstones of all analytical processes, namely; speed, specificity, sensitivity, and reproducibility, considerable resources have been devoted to the development of new and unique technologies in the sample preparation field. With specific reference to solid phase extraction and solid phase microextraction, this presentation will outline new technologies and techniques developed in sample preparation for food analysis.

 What Will You Learn?

  • Learn about new developments in sample preparation of complex food matrices for residue analysis
  • Learn how solid phase extraction (SPE) and solid phase microextraction (SPME) can improve speed, specificity, sensitivity, and reproducibility of food analysis

 Who Should Attend?

  • Food Analysts
  • Analytical Chemists
  • Method Developers

Jennifer Claus
Product Manager, Franchise Marketing Sample Preparation (Non-Bio)
In 2001, Jennifer received her B.S. in both Chemistry and Biology from Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Following college graduation, she joined the Basic Chemistry department at Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, New Jersey where she spent the next six years synthesizing and characterizing potential drug candidates for projects targeting Type 2 Diabetes, Atherosclerosis, Anemia, and Obesity.  While working at Merck & Co., she was able to further her education at Rutgers University, in New Brunswick, NJ, and earned a M.S. in Chemistry with an emphasis in Organic Chemistry. In 2007, she then began working with us as a Chiral Applications Chemist. In the Chiral Lab, Jennifer performed analytical chiral screening, method development, and preparative chiral separations. In January of 2012, Jennifer joined the Marketing Department as a Product Manager. Her current role as a Global Franchise Product Manager for Sample Preparation includes the introduction of innovative solid phase extraction and solid phase microextraction products as well as the development and execution of marketing strategies for current products across the food and environmental markets.
