Growth Regulator Detection Kits

Immunoassays are sensitive tools for detecting fluctuations in plant growth regulators during phases of growth and in response to changing conditions in tissue culture. We offer kits to measure the auxin indoleacetic acid (IAA), the cytokinins trans-Zeatin and isopentenyl adenosine (also called 2iP or 6-(γ,γ-Dimethylallylamino)purine) and the stress hormone abscisic acid. All kits use competitive immunoassays in which the sample hormone competes with a tracer hormone conjugated to alkaline phosphatase. Specific monoclonal antibodies are bound to microwells in strips that can be developed and read in a standard microplate reader. In these assays, only the tracer hormone/ alkaline phosphatase catalyzes color production. Therefore, the amount of absorbance is inversely proportional to the amount of competing hormone in the sample.
