  • its potential in inhibiting the proliferation of non-Hodgkin lymphoma cells and other tumor types
  • its role in protecting vascular endothelial cells from hypoxia-induced apoptosis

Biochem/physiol Actions

Active component from roots of Rubus alceaefolius Poir that exhibits hepatoprotective, anti- cancer, antibiotic, and anti-inflammatory effects.
Euscaphic acid is an active component from roots of Rubus alceaefolius Poir that exhibits hepatoprotective, anti- cancer, antibiotic, and anti-inflammatory effects. Euscaphic acid potently inhibits proliferation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma by suppression of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway. Euscaphic acid was shown to inhibit calf DNA polymerase alpha (pol alpha) and rat DNA polymerase beta (pol beta). Recently reported to inhibit BRD4 with IC50 = 13.20 µM.
