Analysis Note Guaifenesin is a class of medication called expectorants that helps thin and loosen mucus in the lungs, making it easier to cough up the mucus and clear the airways. It is the synthetic version of the active compound in a tree-bark. It has been used to control cough, bronchial infections, colds, sinus infections and allergies. The application exhibits baseline resolution and low back pressure on a 2.7μm Ascentis® Express C18 of guaifenesin and two of its impurities A and B using Cerilliant CRM’s for the impurities.
