Sample preparation:
In a PTFE-melting-pot mix about 500 mg of the sample with 10 ml sodium hydroxide solution 27 % and dissolve under warming. Add 50 ml water for analysis and 15 ml nitric acid 65 % and boil the mixture to clearness. Possibly precipitated manganese dioxide can be reduced and dissolved by adding some sodium nitrite. Put the clear solution into a 250-ml volumetric flask, fill up to volume with water for analysis and mix well.
Determine with the above mentioned test kit.

Boron content in % =   analysis value in mg/l B x 25
weight of sample in mg
