Sample preparation - hot water extraction:
Use the original sample or the dilution (about 1:10) respectively. With undiluted samples their own color or discoloration because of a high part of organic material can be neutralized by determining a calibration value, made of the sample solution and reagent NO3-1 without addition of reagent NO3-2, against a blank reading. This value will then be substrated from the actual analysis value.
Determine with the above mentioned test kits.
Nitrate content in mg/l NO3 = analysis value in mg/l NO3 minus blank reading
or for 1:10 - dilution: (analysis value minus blank reading) x 10
