CHLORDANE

Chloradane is classified as an organic pollutants hazardous for human health, resistant to degradation in the environment and in humans/animals and readily accumulate in lipids (fats) of human/animals. Exposure to these compounds has been linked to cancers and many other diseases. This method uses gas chromatography and electron capture detector (GG/ECD) and is necessary to determine the percentage of Chlordane and its isomers in the standards used. Use gloves and eyeglasses to avoid direct contact with these compounds. Handle these chemicals and organic solvents with care in the laboratory hood. This is NIOSH method S278 in a revised format.

Analysis Type (Application Method): Gas chromatography, electron capture detector (GC-ECD)
