ELEMENTS by ICP (Nitric/Perchloric Acid Ashing)

This method uses inductively coupled argon plasma and atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES), not compound specific, to verify that the types of compounds in the samples are soluble with the ashing procedure selected. Note the specific precuation that all perchloric acid digestions are required to be done in a perchloric acid hood. When working with concentrated acids, wear protective clothing and gloves. Flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (e.g., Methods 70XX) is an alternate analytical technique for many of these elements.

Analysis Type (Application Method): Inductively coupled argon plasma, atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES)
