PHOSPHINE

For this method, samples are collected by drawing workplace air, with personal sampling pumps, through sampling cassettes containing a glass fiber filter and a mercuric chloride-treated polyester filter. Samples are digested with sulfuric acid and analyzed by ICP-AES. Phosphine is a colorless, flammable, toxic gas. Pure phosphine is odorless, but technical grade samples have a highly unpleasant odor like garlic or rotting fish.

Analysis Type (Application Method): ICP
