Carbon Black in Workplace Atmospheres

This method is used for the measurement of airborne carbon black particulates to assess carbon black exposure in workplaces where carbon black is known to be used. Carbon black is used as a reinforcing agent in rubber and as a black pigment in printers ink, coatings, paper, and plastics. Ninety-five percent of carbon black is used in the rubber industry, predominantly as a pigment and reinforcing agent in tires.
