EZ-Fit® Filtration Units for Bioburden Testing

Microbial testing won’t be a burden when you use EZ-Fit® Filtration Units. Our sterilized, disposable filtration devices for bioburden testing can streamline your workflow, save time and give you highly reliable microbial enumeration results. Filter your liquid sample, then transfer the membrane onto an agar plate or add liquid media from an ampoule to culture the captured organisms.

EZ-Fit® pink units come with a wide range of membranes from 0.22 to 0.8 μm for maximum versatility to suit all applications. The new patented drain design speeds up processing of turbid and hard-to-filter matrices.

EZ-Fit® blue units give you extra flexibility: after filtration, either transfer the membrane to an agar plate or add liquid media and convert the device into a Petri dish.

Both the blue and pink EZ-Fit® Filtration Units are available in different variants to suit your application:

  • 100 mL or 250 mL funnels
  • Black or white, gridded or plain membranes, made of mixed cellulose esters or PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride)
  • Bagged individually, in multipacks of 4 units (pink version only) or packaged in bulk (with or without protective bag)

Optimal microbial recovery

The drain support and the funnel-to-base assembly on both the blue and pink units has been optimized so that the membrane remains perfectly flat after sample filtration. When transferred to the culture medium, the whole filtration surface of the membrane stays in perfect contact with the culture media.

There are no folds or wrinkles, so optimal microbial recovery is ensured. The funnel’s shape and the properties of its hydrophobic material minimizes sample residue, ensuring that the complete sample volume reaches the membrane surface.

The innovative funnel assembly design prevents leakages and liquid sample from bypassing the membrane.

The EZ-Fit® Filtration Units conform to international standards (EP/USP/ISO standards) and comply with water testing regulations.

If using blue base units, liquid media can be added so there is no need to transfer the membrane. Simply remove the funnel and the unit converts into a Petri dish, ready for incubation.
