Description

Application

18:1 PI[1]P has been used in liposome preparation.[2] It may also be used to generate small unilamellar vesicles for liposome flotation assays.[3]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Phosphatidylinositol phosphate helps to promote the plasma membrane H⁺-ATPase of Saccharomyces cerevisiae.[1] Phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PtdIns3P) is very essential for the biogenesis of autophagosomes and their precursors.[2]
