How does TRO 19622, Product T3077 work?
1 answer-
TRO 19622 interacts with the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP). By interacting with protein components of the mPTP, it prevents the release of apoptotic factors and therefore protects the neuron. This mechanism of action may lead to a general neuroprotective activity. Please see the following reference for more information: T. Bordet et al., Identification and characterization of cholest-4-en-3-one, oxime (TRO19622), a novel drug candidate for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis J. Pharmacol. Exp. Ther. 322, 709-720, (2007)
