A pseudotetraploid call line generated by fusion of 8-bromodeoxyuridine-resistant mutant rat glioma cell line C6-BU-1 and the 6-thioguanine-resistant mutant rat glioma cell line C6-TG-1.

Preparation Note

DMEM + 2 mM glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) + HAT (0.1 mM hypoxanthine, 10 μM aminopterin and 16 μM thymidine) Cells can be cultured without HAT provided they were cultured in between in HT medium for 3-4 days

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm² using 0.05% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO₂; 37°C
