Application

Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.
Chromatin immunoprecipitation (1 paper)
Immunoprecipitation (1 paper)
Goat Anti-Mouse IgG (whole molecule)-Agarose antibodies have been used for immunoprecipiation assays. The product can also be used for Ouchterlony double diffusion applications.
Soluble antigens from meningococci extracts were mixed with ascitic fluid containing primary antibody and 50 μl of agarose-linked goat anti-mouse IgG for 5 hours at 4 °C.

Biochem/physiol Actions

IgG helps in opsonization, complement fixation and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) participates in hypersensitivity type II and type III. IgG2a of IgG has cytotropic properties and IgG2 molecules have the ability to activate complement.

General description

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) belongs to the immunoglobulin family and is a widely expressed serum antibody. An immunoglobulin has two heavy chains and two light chains connected by a disulfide bond. It mainly helps in immune defense. It is a glycoprotein. IgG is a major class of immunoglobulin. Mice consists of five immunoglobulin classes- IgM, IgG, IgA, IgD and IgE.
Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is a glycoprotein antibody that regulates immune responses such as phagocytosis and is also involved in the development of autoimmune diseases. Mouse IgGs have four distinct isotypes, namely, IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, and IgG3. IgG1 regulates complement fixation in mice. Goat Anti-Mouse IgG (whole molecule)-Agarose antibodies bind to all mouse IgG subclasses.
