Application

  • Angiotensin II (angII) human has been used:
  • to study its effect on interleukin-1β–mediated islet inflammation and β-cell dysfunction.[1]
  • to determine if angII activates specific calcineurin-dependent NFAT (nuclear factor of activated T-cells) isoforms in cardiomyocytes.[2]
  • to study the actions of systemic angII infusions on glomerular permeability in vivo.[3]
  • to induce abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) in ApoE knockout mice for experimental studies.[4]
  • to study the effect of Ang II infusion on atrial branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) catabolism in male C57/BL6 mice.[5]
  • to check the effects of angII on plasma triglyceride production and its association with insulin resistance in normal rats.[6]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Angiotensin II (angII) is an octapeptide cardiovascular[7] hormone which affects the activities of the heart, kidney, vasculature and brain. AngII in the blood is produced from angiotensinogen via renin and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE). It works via binding to specific receptors present on cell membranes. It is associated with vasoconstriction, induction of vascular smooth muscle cell growth, stimulation of protooncogene expression, and modulation of myocardial hypertrophy, renal failure and fibrosis[8][9][10][11][12][13]AngII plays a key role in the regulation of blood pressure via the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone (RAAS) pathway.[14]

Features and Benefits

The purity of our angiotensin II human, Ang II, is verified to assure your experimental success (HPLC and peptide content). The peptide sequence is DRVYIHPF.
