Application

Imipenem monohydrate has been used to determine the resistance profiles of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates.[1] It has also been used in susceptibility testing against Acinetobacter baumannii.[2]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Imipenem is found effective against gram positive and negative aerobes and anaerobes.[3] Imipenem is often combined with cilastatin, to inhibit its metabolism in kidney.[4]
