2-Chloro-6-(trichloromethyl)pyridine is a chlorinatedheterocyclic compound that belongs to the pyridine family and serves as an active ingredient found in commercially available nitrogen stabilizers. Iteffectively delays the conversion of ammonium (NH_₄⁺) to nitrate (NO_₃⁻). This process enhances nitrogen retention and improves nitrogen use efficiency,ultimately leading to increased crop yields.
