The cap has a foam liner, which serves to make a very good seal between the bottle and the cap. The granules or grains are not coated. This product is best handled under an inert atmosphere, in a glove bag or a glove box.

General description
Calcium is a highly reactive and non-toxic metal often prepared by the aluminothermal or electrolysis methods. Calcium metal granules with a purity of 99% are a valuable material used in several industrial and academic applications. The granules are made from high-quality calcium and are produced under strict manufacturing standards to ensure their purity and quality. Application
Our 99% pure calcium metal granules are widely used as a reducing agent in the manufacturing of various metals, including uranium and thorium. They are also an essential component in the production of aluminum alloys that are commonly used in the aerospace and automotive industries. These calcium metal granules are also used in the desulfurization of steel and as a deoxidizer in the production of various metals. Furthermore, our calcium metal granules are extensively used in organic synthesis to reduce various functional groups, such as aldehydes, ketones, esters, and nitriles, to their corresponding alcohols. The metal is also utilized in the preparation of Grignard reagents, which serve as crucial intermediates in organic synthesis.

How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.
