General description

Acetylcholinesterase substrate and nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist.

Application

Acetylthiocholine iodide has been used as a substrate in the preparation of acetylcholine esterase (AChE) assay working solution[1] for AChE activity assay.[1][2][3] It has also been used as a component in phosphate buffer (PB) for cholinesterase assay.[4]
Substrate for the colorimetric determination of acetylcholinesterase activity.

    1. This product has not been tested for suitability in the Ellman's Assay, however it has been cited in the publication below. In addition, see product D8130, DTNB Ellman's reagent.
