Sudan red 7B, also known as fat red, is a non-fluorescent stain. It is effectively used to stain lipids and is used to indicate the presence of suberin in cell walls. Sudan red 7B acts as a marker for formosan subterranean termite, Coptotermes fornosanus Shiraki.

    1. The solubility of this product is tested at 10mg/mL in acetone. It is not tested with other solvents. Other organic solvents noted are benzene, ethanol, methanol, chloroform, and DMSO, however no rate available. It may be helpful to refer to the literature for the use of acetonitrile, toluene, and decane as solvents.
