General description
アルギン酸は海藻から分離される高分子量直鎖重合体です。n-マンヌロン酸および L-グルクロン酸から成る直鎖 β-1→4-結合重合体です。アルギン酸は褐藻類の細胞外マトリクスに存在する酸性多糖類の 1 種です。HIV の逆転写酵素活性を阻害することが報告されています。海藻多糖類ポリ-α-L -グルクロン酸であるアルギン酸の構造研究の報告があります。褐藻 Sargassum wightii より単離されたアルギン酸の、II 型コラーゲン誘導関節炎ラットにおける抗炎症効果が報告されています。広範な温度範囲（200～800°C）での py-GC/MS を用いたアルギン酸の熱分解および熱重量分析（TGA）について報告されています。ゲルマニウム内部反射因子（IREs）上銅薄膜に生物腐食を起こすことが報告されました。
