Application

123 bp DNA Ladder has been used as a size marker in random amplified polymorphic DNA-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis. It has also been used as a molecular marker in gel electrophoresis.[1]

Other Notes

Contains 35 fragments, 123 - 4182 bp
For optimal resolution, the recommended agarose gel concentration is 1.5%.
Sigma′s 123 bp DNA Ladder is provided in a solution of 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 50 mM NaCl, and 0.1 mM EDTA.

Learn how water impurities can affect DNA and RNA electrophoresis and blotting. High purity water purified using ultrafiltration is suitable for nucleic acid electrophoresis, Northern and Southern blotting.

Markers for gel electrophoresis aid size determination of DNA, PCR fragments, and RNA, staining well with common nucleic acid stains.

Choose the appropriate markers and ladders for nucleic acid size determination of samples separated by electrophoresis. Determine size of DNA, RNA and PCR-generated fragments using agarose or polyacrylamide gels.
