General description
Leucine aminopeptidase (LAP, EC 3.4.11.1) removes N-terminalleucine residues from peptides and proteins and is abundant in liver andintestinal tissues. LAP activity can increase in settings of tissue damage,tumorigenesis, or inflammation.
Application
For quantitative determination of LAP enzyme activity in biologicalsamples, such as cells, tissues, and serum samples.
For high-throughput screening of LAP inhibitors and evaluation of drugmodulators.

Biochem/physiol Actions
The Leucine Aminopeptidase Activity Assay Kit provides arapid colorimetric method in which LAP hydrolyzes a dye-linked leucinesubstrate to yield a yellow product measurable at 405 nm. The change inabsorbance over 20 minutes is proportional to LAP activity. The lineardetection range in 96-well plate is 0.025 to 250 U/L.
