General description

RVT-602 (TAK-448) is a Kisspeptin analog. It is a nonapeptide, ending with Arg-Trp-NH2 sequence.

Application

TAK-448 may be used to investigate its pharmacodynamic properties through receptor binding and agonistic assays, and to assess its impact on plasma drug and testosterone levels in rat models.

Biochem/physiol Actions

TAK-448 acts by stimulatiing stimulating GnRH secretion, increasing the release of LH and FSH. Sustained exposure results in a transient increase in plasma testosterone followed by potent suppression of testosterone levels.
