Application
L'albumine de sérum bovin a été utilisée :
- comme constituant d′un mélange pour PCR (amplification en chaîne par polymérase)[1]
- dans la préparation de neurones corticaux dissociés[2]
- lors d′un marquage immunofluorescent[2]
- comme constituant d′une solution saline exempte de Ca2+ (contenant de la collagénase, de la hyaluronidase et de la DNAse) destinée à la digestion de tissus bovins[3]
Biochem/physiol Actions
Certains épitopes conformationnels et certains épitopes de la séquence primaire de l′ASB sont soupçonnés d′être des allergènes impliqués dans les allergies humaines au bœuf et au lait.
Preparation Note
L'albumine sérique est parfois appelée Fraction V. Cette dénomination provient de la méthode originelle de Cohn consistant à fractionner les protéines sériques par précipitation dans de l'alcool froid. L'albumine sérique a été trouvée dans la cinquième fraction d'éthanol selon la méthode de Cohn. Depuis, l'expression "Fraction V" est utilisée par certains pour décrire l'albumine sérique, quelle que soit la méthode de préparation employée. D'autres utilisent cette appellation pour décrire de l'albumine sérique purifiée par des méthodes de fractionnement à l'éthanol qui ont beaucoup évolué depuis le développement de la méthode de Cohn d'origine. Sigma-Aldrich fabrique et distribue des albumines sériques purifiées à l'aide de diverses méthodes primaires, notamment la véritable méthode de fractionnement de Cohn, des méthodes de fractionnement à l'éthanol modifiées, le choc thermique et la chromatographie. Les étapes de purification supplémentaires peuvent inclure une cristallisation ou une filtration sur charbon.

After reconstitution in PBS, for how long is the protein stable in solution if stored at 4°C or -20*C?

Prepared BSA solution products also available for purchase. These products have a shelf life ranging from 18 months to 2 years. Many are assigned a restest schedule with no firm expiration date. These products are prepared in saline, DPBS, or Tris. These solutions are filtered products and offered in a range of concentrations. The storage recommendation for these products is 2 - 8 deg. C. In addition, BSA is often used as a carrier protein for less stable compounds that are stored frozen. While there is no established shelf life for a BSA solution stored frozen, it is quite stable. See the link below for a sample Certificate of Analysis for one of the BSA solutions.

Does this BSA have bovine immunoglobulins?

This product does contain bovine immunoglobulins. BSA products that do not contain immunoglobulins will state "globulin-free" or "essentially globulin-free" on the product detail page. Product A3156 is an example of an immunoglobulin free BSA product.

We have not tested A7906 in quality control to be protease-free. Other BSA products to suggest that are protease-free would be A3059 or B6917.

A7906 is not tested in quality control for insulin levels. One BSA that is indicated as "suitable for insulin RIA procedures" is A7888.
