General description

Rapid perfringens medium (RPM) is designed to detect low to moderate numbers of Clostridium perfringens. Polymyxin and neomycin, anaerobic conditions provided by thioglycollate, and an elevated incubation temperature aid in achieving selectivity. The pH of the medium ranges between 7.0 – 7.2.

Application

Rapid perfringens medium is suitable for the presumptive identification, detection, and estimation of Clostridium perfringens in foods.
