Once Mr. Frosty container filled with 2-propanol is already at -70ºC, how long it takes to thaw it at room temperature?

What frequency of replacing isopropanol in the Mr. Frosty container?
1 answer-
It is recommended that the Isopropanol (100%) be replaced after every fifth use. The Mr. Frosty system depends on the specific heat capacity of alcohol in order to provide the optimum cooling rate of 1°C per minute. After several cooling and warming cycles, enough vapor condensation has taken place that much of the alcohol in the reservoir has been replaced by water. This process affects the heat capacity of the assembled unit such that the cooling rate may be affected.

I've seen the video for the proper usage of the Mr Frosty but I still have a question, is it possible to use it if it's already at -80°C? Does it cold down the vials gradually if the container is already frozen? Thanks.
1 answer-
No, this product should be thawed completely and allowed to come to room temperature before attempting to freeze any cells. The vials will not cool slowly if the container is already cold.

Hi, How can I speed up thawing of the Mr Frosty (because sometimes we need to re-use it the same day)? Is it okay to thaw it in a warm water bath, and then let it cool for a bit to room temperature?
1 answer-
According to the manufacturer, thawing in a warm water bath should not be a problem for this product. However, there is a potential for cracking if the temperature difference is too great due to thermal stresses. It is recommended to thoroughly dry the Mr. Frosty before refreezing.
