If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

Método: colorimétrico, con tiras reactivas, de 10 - 40 - 80 - 180 - 400 mg/l (SO32-), MQuant®
Las tiras reactivas de sulfito MQuant® son adecuadas para los análisis alimentarios, en particular en los análisis del vino y los zumos de fruta, los alimentos sulfurados (frutos frescos y secos), el pescado, los mariscos, los crustáceos y los productos cárnicos picados. Los iones sulfitos reaccionan con una mezcla de hexacianoferrato de potasio(II), sulfato de zinc y nitroprusiato de sodio para formar un compuesto rojo. La concentración de sulfitos se mide de manera semicuantitativa por comparación visual de la zona de reacción en la tira reactiva con los campos de la escala de color. Las tiras reactivas son perfectas para el preanálisis rápido y económico de una muestra con el fin de estimar la concentración de sulfitos y un posible factor de dilución antes de utilizar un método cuantitativo como el ensayo de sulfitos Reflectoquant® o Spectroquant®.

We produce canned food, and sometimes our products contain Mata-Bi-sulfite as preservative. I would like to to verify that products produced after the mentioned allergenic products, contain less than 10 PPM sulfite. Will these strips do the job?

These test strips have a measuring range of 10 - 400 mg/L or 10 - 400 ppm Sulfite. This product would not be suitable for concentration of less than 10 ppm. Please see the links below to review more sensitive tests available:

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. Sulfite ions react with a mixture of potassium hexacyanoferrate(II), zinc sulfate, and sodium nitroprusside to form a red compound. The sulfite concentration is measured semiquantitatively by visual comparison of the reaction zone of the test strip with the fields of a color scale. The limit of detection for product 1100130001, Sulfite Test, is 10 - 40 - 80 - 180 - 400 mg/L (SO32-). The sulfite concentration is measured semi-quantitatively by visual comparison of the reaction zone of the test strip with the fields of a color scale.

Can I test sulfite in urine with these test strips?

This product is not specifically tested for use with urine samples. Typical sample materials include wastewater. Suitability of this product for the analysis of urine samples would have to be determined by the end user.
