EcoCult® Tryptic Soy Broth is a universal culture medium free from inhibitors and indicators. The medium is suitable for the isolation and cultivation of fastidious aerobic bacteria, yeasts, and molds. The combination of the two peptones, enzymatic digest of casein and of soybean, provides a high nutrition by supplying organic nitrogen, amino acids, and longer-chained peptides. Sodium chloride supplies the osmotic balance to this complex medium, while the dipotassium phosphate helps in buffering.
Application
EcoCult® Tryptic Soy Broth is suitable for the isolation and cultivation of a wide range of microorganisms from different material. It is used for sterility testing and microbial enumeration of the non-sterile preparations and products. It is used for the determination of total viable aerobic count using the MPN method. It is also used as pre-enrichment medium for the detection of food pathogens, e.g. Salmonella, STEC.
