General description

Myb-binding protein 1A (MYBBP1A) interacts with sequence specific DNA-binding proteins in order to activate or repress transcription. Transcriptional repression via Myb-binding protein 1A is thought to be mediated by histone deacetylase activity (HDAC activity).

~160 kDa observed. Uncharacterized band(s) may be observed in some cell lysates. The full length of this protein is observed at ~160 kDa; however, it is proteolytically cleaved into ~140 kDa and ~67 kDa fragments (Hochstatter, J., et al. (2012). J Biol Chem. 287(29):24365-24377.; Mori, S., et al. (2012). PLoS One. 7(10):e39723.).
