Ein 27-Aminosäuren-Peptid, das durch Exon 1B von humanem Calpastatin kodiert wird und als zellpermeabler und potenter Inhibitor von Calpain I und Calpain II dient (IC₅₀ = 20 nmol/l für aufgereinigtes Kaninchen-Calpain II). Hemmt weder Papain noch Trypsin. Blockiert die Herabregulation von Proteinkinase C_ε (PKC_ε) in Rattenhypophysen-GH4C1-Zellen, die durch Thyrotropin-freisetzendes Hormon (TRH) stimuliert wurden.
