Beschreibung

General description

Ein chlorhaltiges Nicht-Amino-Bisphosphonat, das als potenter Inhibitor der durch Osteoklasten vermittelten Knochenresorption dient. Es metabolisiert in Osteoklasten und Makrophagen zu einem nichthydrolysierbaren ATP-Analogon und leitet die Apoptose ein, indem es die Mitochondrienfunktion hemmt. Ein wirksamer Metallchelatbildner, der die Invasion, Adhäsion und Migration von PC-3-Prostatakrebszellen hemmt (IC₅₀ = 100 nmol/l).
