The product is an antibiotic supplement recommended for selective isolation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is added to media to make sure we have good recovery of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Preparation Note
Rehydrate the contents of 1 vial aseptically with 5 ml of sterile distilled water. Mix well and aseptically add it to 1000 ml of sterile, molten cooled (45-50ºC) M-PA Agar Base (Cat. No.42800). Mix well and aseptically pour into sterile petri plates.
We do not have studies done for splitting the vial or storing a partially used, rehydrated vial for later use. Once rehydrated with sterile distilled water, the stability of the remaining half is not validated or documented.
One recommendation could be prepare the full 1000 mL batch and store the unused poured/prepared plates at 2–8°C (per standard microbiology practice).
