Application
Acetylcholinesterase aus Electrophorus electricus (Zitteraal) wird wie folgt verwendet:
- bei Assays zur Aktivität der Acetylcholinesterase
- zur Untersuchung ihrer Auswirkungen auf die Hippocampuszellen von Xenopus-Embryos
- zur Untersuchung der Auswirkung von Acetylcholin-Inhibitoren auf die Entwicklung und Plastizität
Biochem/physiol Actions
Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) weist an den neuromuskulären Übergängen und im synaptischen Spalt cholinerger Neuronen Aktivität gegenüber Acetylcholin auf. Sie ist am Stickstoffmonoxid-Signalweg beteiligt.
Wichtiges Abbauenzym für Acetylcholin in vivo. Wandelt Acetylcholin + H2O in Cholin + Essigsäure um.
Physical form
Lyophilisiertes Pulver, das Tris-Puffersalze enthält.
Analysis Note
Die unter Verwendung von Acetylcholin als Substrat erhaltene Aktivität ist 30- bis 100-mal höher als mit Butyrylcholin unter Verwendung von Acetylcholinesterase vom Zitteraal.
Other Notes
Eine Einheit hydrolisiert 1,0 μmol Acetylcholin zu Cholin und Acetat pro min bei pH 8,0 und 37 °C.
Disclaimer
Für Verdünnungslösungen (<1 mg/ml) zur Stabilisierung 1 mg/ml BSA zugeben. Verdünnungslösungen, die mindestens 1 mg Protein/ml in neutralen Phosphatpuffer enthalten, sind im Kühlschrank gelagert mindestens 6 Monate haltbar.

Are solutions of Product C2888, Acetylcholinesterase from Electrophorus electricus (electric eel), harmed by freezing?

Yes, solutions may be harmed by freezing. The data sheet for Product C2888 indicates that solutions stabilized by the addition of BSA are stable when kept refrigerated for up to six months. A customer has reported to us that they tried freezing a solution to which BSA was added; they found that the solution had a 40 percent loss of activity after four months in the freezer. So our best recommendation is that solutions be stabilized with BSA and kept refrigerated, not frozen.
