Coenzym Q1 (CoQ1) ist ein Mitglied der 1-Isoprenyl-Gruppe (nicht natürlich vorkommend) einer Familie von Ubichinonen, die sich eine chemische Chinin-Gruppe teilen, jedoch in ihrem Schwanz eine unterschiedliche Anzahl an chemischen Isoprenyl-Untereinheiten aufweisen. CoQ-Verbindungen sind fettlösliche Bestandteile von Zellmembranen, in denen sie verschiedene Funktionen erfüllen, wie beispielsweise den Transport von Elektronen und Protonen. Die am besten untersuchte CoQ-Verbindung ist CoQ10. CoQ1 wird häufig in Vergleichsstudien zur Wirkung der Isoprenylkettenlänge auf die CoQ-Funktion oder -Verteilung und zur Identifizierung von Chinon-Reduktase verwendet.
