The solubility of this product has been tested in chloroform at a concentration of 50 mg/mL. For cell culture application, it can be dissolved in fresh, anhydrous DMSO at 5 mg/mL (10.56 mM), but the final concentration of DMSO in cell culture should not exceed more than 0.1%. Most cells can tolerate up to 0.1% DMSO; however, the response may vary depending on the specific type of cell or cell line. Therefore, it is advisable to conduct preliminary testing to determine the optimal concentration for your particular application.

General description
Clofazimin ist ein Riminophenazin, das als Medikament gegen Lepra eingesetzt wird. Es wird zur Behandlung der multiresistenten Tuberkulose eingesetzt. Clofazimin verhindert die Motilität der Neutrophilen und die Lymphozytentransformation. Es hat eine entzündungshemmende Wirkung, die zur Behandlung des diskoiden Lupus erythematodes genutzt wird. Clofazimin hat immunsuppressive Eigenschaften.
Application
Clofazimin wird verwendet:
- für antimikrobielle Zubereitungen
- für die Untersuchung seiner Akkumulation auf Makrophagen zur Bildung kristallartiger Arzneimitteleinschlüsse (CLDIs)
- zur Modellierung der medikamenteninduzierten granulomatösen Leberentzündung
- zur Untersuchung der In-vivo-Ladungsspeicherkapazität von Makrophagen
