ITS ist eine Mischung aus rekombinantem menschlichem Insulin, menschlichem Transferrin und Natriumselenit. Es ist ein allgemeiner Zellzusatz, der zur Verwendung in nicht komplexen Medien (z. B. MEM, RPMI-1640) und komplexen Medien (z. B. Hams F-12, DME/F-12, MEM) mit Natriumpyruvat entwickelt wurde.
