Application
Monoaminoxidase A wurde in einer Studie zur Untersuchung von Verhaltensstörung bei Männern eines großen Verwandtschaftsnetzwerks, bei denen ein Mangel der Enzymaktivität von Monoaminoxidase A festgestellt wurde, eingesetzt. Sie wurde auch in einer Studie zur Untersuchung des Zusammenhangs von Rauchen und der Hemmung von MAOA eingesetzt.
Biochem/physiol Actions
MAO′ sind Proteine der Mitochondrienmembran. Diese Enzyme sind für die Katalyse der oxidativen Deaminierung von endo- und xenobiotischen Aminen verantwortlich. Die Substratspezifizität ist bei jedem Isozym anders.
