Exhibits co-existent antimicrobial and antiproteolytic activities.1 Inhibits WAP-type four-disulfide core (WFDC) domain containing elastases. Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Inhibitor of human leukocyte elastase and proteinase 3, originally isolated from the skin of patients with psoriasis. May protect against certain autoimmune tissue damage.
