Application

18:1 TAP (DOTAP) has been used in chloroform solutions to form dry film in the preparation of cationic liposomes.[1] It has also been used in standard stock solution used for the preparation of cationic liposomes.[2]

Biochem/physiol Actions

DOTAP (1,2-dioleoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane) is a cationic lipid structure, used for in vitro and in vivo nucleic acid and protein delivery.[3] The lipid composition and cell type affects the transfection potential of DOTAP.[4] DOTAP mediates gene knockdown technique in hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs).[5]
