However, Albumin containing solutions are generally stable when stored at -20 to -80 °C in single use aliquots for at least 1 year. Also note that a number of sterile prepared BSA solutions currently available may be stored at 2–8 °C with assigned retest dates that range from 2 – 4 years from the date of Quality Release. Albumin is quite stable in solution and freezer storage may not be necessary.

General description
La seroalbúmina bovina es una proteína que desempeña un papel clave en la regulación de la presión osmótica coloidal sanguínea. Una proteína hidrosoluble compuesta por 583 aminoácidos, la BSA tiene un peso molecular calculado de 66 430 Daltons. Seis hélices α forman los tres dominios homólogos de la BSA. Dependiendo del pH, la BSA experimenta isomerización conformacional reversible. La estructura nativa de la proteína se vuelve reactiva y flexible al calentarse.

La seroalbúmina puede denominarse también Fracción V. Is this product biotin-free?

This product is not routinely tested for Biotin. However, this material is dialyzed with a 10 kDa cutoff membrane. This dialysis step removes small molecules such as biotin, which has a molecular weight of less than 500 Da. Therefore, this product is considered low in biotin, helping to prevent interference with streptavidin–biotin binding.

The magnesium content of this material is not routinely tested, but historical data indicates that three lots contained between 10-20 parts per million. Water is used as the pre-lyophilization solvent.
