This product is provided as a lyophilized powder. When stored appropriately at -20ºC, the material is quite stable and not assigned an expiration or retest date. A warranty period of one year from the date of shipment applies. Following reconstitution, stock solutions remain active for one week at 2 – 8ºC. Solutions are most stable at pH 6.5, as a pH >7 will greatly reduce thrombin activity. Since thrombin solutions adsorb to glass, it is recommended to aliquot solutions in plastic tubes and store at –20 ºC for long-term storage. Various literature sources indicate solutions may be most stable when stored at -70ºC. The long term stability of this product in solution has not been established.

Analysis Note

Application
