Prostaglandin E1 may be used in cell culture to protect human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) from injury induced by hydrogen peroxide.

Prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) aids in the relaxation of corporal cavernosal tissue.[1] It helps to preserve the patency of the ductus arteriosus.[2][3] It is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED).[4]
