Specific inhibitor of MDR-1 (P-gp)

Tariquidar is a non-competitive inhibitor. It is used as a potential agent for checking the role of P-glycoprotein inhibition in cancer.[1] Tariquidar also has an ability to enhance drug exposure in drug-resistant cancers.[2]

Tariquidar is a potent MDR1 (P-gp, P-glycoprotein) inhibitor. Tariquidar reverses multidrug resistance (MDR) by inhibiting MDR1-mediated drug efflux.
