Mitex^™ PTFE Membrane is unaffected by almost all liquids, including organic solvents, concentrated acids and bases, propellants, and cryogenic fluids. Mitex^™ membrane is unbacked, yet is easy to handle, combining the convenience of a backed membrane with the versatility of a pure PTFE membrane. Mitex^™ membrane is hydrophobic.

Application

Mitex^™ Membrane Filter is suitable for:

• clarifying acids, bases, and cryogenic fluids
• clarifying propellants
• analyzing hydraulic fluids
• isolating RNA

It has been used in the ammonium diffusion method to measure the 15N atom percentage excess of NH₄⁺ and NO₃ in soil extracts. It has also been used in horizontal infiltration experiments using unsaturated sand columns.
