General description

We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. This product is a biodegradable surfactant and is aligned with the 10th principle of Green Chemistry "Design for Degradation".

Tergitol™ 15-S-9 is a linear non-ionic surfactant that is a secondary ethoxylated alcohol.[1] This clear liquid surfactant is compatible with anionic, cationic, and other nonionic surfactants.

Application

Tergitol has been used as a surfactant to study its influence on the formation of multi-phase micro-emulsions.[2]
Tergitol™ 15-S-9 has been used:
  • To synthesize thermally stable mesoporous alumina[3]
  • To synthesize porous TiO2[3]
  • Along with SDS, ethanol and water for continuous phase preparations in electrospray emulsification[3]
  • In the synthesis of Lath-like γ-alumina and boehmite nanofibers[3]
